Customising reporting periods in Beam

updated 4 months ago

In Beam, we understand that different organisations may have varying financial reporting periods. While our default setting aligns with the standard calendar quarters, we provide the flexibility to customise these periods to match your company's specific financial reporting schedule.

Understanding the Default Period

  • Default Calendar Quarters: By default, Beam uses the calendar year to define quarters:

    • Q1: January to March

    • Q2: April to June

    • Q3: July to September

    • Q4: October to December

Customising Reporting Periods

  1. Access Period Settings: If your company operates on a non-standard financial reporting calendar, you can adjust this in the "Period Settings" in Beam.

  2. Edit Periods: To make changes, click on "Edit" within the Period Settings.

  3. Adjust Quarters: Change the start and end dates for Q1 according to your company's financial calendar. This will automatically adjust the corresponding periods for Q2, Q3, and Q4 to ensure continuity.

  4. Save Changes: Once you have adjusted the periods to your preference, click "Save" to finalise the changes.

After Customisation

  • Goals and Activities Alignment: All goals and activities within Beam will now follow the custom financial reporting period that you have set.

  • Consistency Across Reporting: This ensures that your reporting and goal tracking are consistent with your financial calendar, providing a cohesive view of your company's performance.
