Beam user management: roles and permissions

User designations in Beam

Beam caters to different user needs through distinct designations, found in “People” under “Workspace settings”:

  • Active Members: Currently using Beam.

  • Invited Members: Haven't created a profile/accepted the invite.

  • Suspended Members: Temporarily blocked from accessing Beam.

  • Deleted Users: Removed from Beam permanently.


Understanding user roles

Each designation corresponds to a specific role with tailored permissions:

Administrators

  • Manage Beam's functionality and performance. They have full access to

    • User & Group Management

    • Billing & Settings

    • Reporting & Analytics

    • Enable/disable engagement features like check-ins and feedback.

    • Enable/disable performance features like goals and OKRs.

    • Manage apps, members, and groups.

    • Manage subscriptions and payment details.

    • Conduct performance reviews

    • Configure workspace settings and features.

Managers/Reviewers

  • Oversee team members and manage workflows. They can:

    • Invite team members and manage access.

    • Access reports and analytics of their team members only.

Members

  • Individual users have limited access. They can only see information (goals, updates, performance, and reviews) assigned to them.
